Could not find %ls XML index named ‘%.*ls’ on table ‘%.*ls’
Msg 6333, Level 16, State 202, Line 1
Could not find%ls XML index named ‘%.*ls’ on table ‘%.*ls’
This error message appears when you try to create a secondary XML index for a table that references a non-existing primary XML index.
The T-SQL statement can be parsed, but causes the error at runtime.
Errors of the Severity Level 16 are generated by the user and can be fixed by the SQL Server user. The statement cannot be executed this way. Secondary XML indices can only reference existing primary XML indices.
This error message was introduced with SQL Server 2005.
IF OBJECT_ID(‘tempdb..#t’) > 0
DROP TABLE #t
CREATE TABLE #t
id INT PRIMARY KEY,
CREATE PRIMARY XML INDEX IX_XML_t_c1
CREATE XML INDEX IX_sXML_t_c1
USING XML INDEX IX_sXML_t_c1 FOR PATH
In the above example we try to create a secondary XML index on the column c1 of the table #t. Because the USING clause of this secondary index references the non-existing primary XML index IX_sXML_t_c1, the error is raised.
