Severity level:
16.

Description:
This error message appears when you try to access a database, that is not known on this SQL Server instance.

Consequences:
The SQL statement cannot be parsed and further execution is stopped.

Resolution:
Error of the Severity Level 16 are generated by the user and can be fixed by the SQL Server user. The statement cannot be executed this way. The particular database must exist on the SQL Server instance.

Versions:
All versions of SQL Server.

Remarks:
In the above example the error is raised by the typo in the name North(h)wind.
