Expert SQL Server 2005 Development

Expert SQL Server 2005 Development
Adam Machanic with Hugo Kornelis and Lara Rubbelke
ISBN-10: 159059729X

This book is good, there is no doubt about it. It emphasizes Apress claim to be “The Expert’s Voice in SQL Server Programming”.

The expectations are met, but not surpassed. This is probably partially due to the choice of topics. The book covers a wide range of topics but does not have a common theme. The chapters on design and architectural concepts as well as development methodologies are really good. The T-SQL chapters are clearly above average but let the book down. All in all though the book is still highly recommended reading.
