Severity level:
16.

Description:
This error message appears when you try to use the FILESTREAM_ON keyword in a CREATE TABLE statement, but the table in question has no large column data type with the FILESTREAM attribute.

Consequences:
The T-SQL statement can be parsed, but causes the error at runtime.

Resolution:
Error of the Severity level 16 are generated by the user and can be fixed by the SQL Server user. The statement cannot be run this way. You must have at least one column of a large data type with the FILESTREAM attribute in your CREATE TABLE statement before you can use the FILESTREAM_ON keyword.

This error message was introduced with SQL Server 2008.

Example(s):
IF OBJECT_ID (‘dbo.t’) IS NOT NULL
    DROP TABLE dbo.t;
GO
CREATE TABLE dbo.t
(
    c1 int
) FILESTREAM_ON abc;

Remarks:
In the above example we try to use the FILESTREAM_ON keyword in a CREATE TABLE statement. Because the table dbo.t does not have a column of a large data type with the FILESTREAM attribute, the error is raised.
