SQL Server 2008 Release Delayed to Third Quarter 2008

Today, in a Microsoft SQL Server Blog http://blogs.technet.com/dataplatforminsider/archive/2008/01/25/microsoft-sql-server-2008-roadmap-clarification.aspx it was announced that SQL Server 2008 will not be released until the third quarter of 2008. In addition, during the SQL Server launch event scheduled for the end of February, Microsoft will be releasing a feature-complete public CTP of SQL Server 2008.

Personally, I don't think that most DBAs will mind that the original second quarter deadline has been missed. I know I like having the extra time.
