SSL port when connecting to a remote sql server?

Is there a way to configure Query Analyzer (QA) to use an SSL port when connecting to a remote sql server.

The issue is that when using QA the database account credentials are passed across the network.  For some security reason, that need to be passed in an encrypted format.

    Hi,

what I believe is when server is behind firewall and if some one connects to sql server it has to pass by the firewall rules, this would be good if sql server is not exposed to outside network. Or else refer Encrypting Connections to SQL Server  in Books Online on how to configure SSL for SQL Server.
