    DTS packages validation

    Hi,

     I am doing migration for some DTS packages to SSIS. After migration if I want to validate whether the packages are working fine do I have to execute them directly as some of the packages use the connection of production server and I cannot execute them as it may make changes to PRO server databases when executed.

    Or

    Do , I have to change the connection to DEV server and validate them.

    When can I validate these packages using the PRO server connection so that I can say they have been successfully migrated.

    Hi,

    IMO you should change the connection to Dev/Test box and ask your application/package developer to test if it is executing well.
