We have a Dual Quad core server with 12 GB of ram running Windows 2003 Enterprise SP2. We have two instances of SQL 2000 STD SP3a running on the server. Since either of these instance can only use 2gb of memory should we use the 3GB switch in the boot.ini file. Below is our current setting.
For now we are stuck in SQL-2000 until the two vendor applications we use move up to support for SQL-2005 or higher.
    Thanks in advance.

I don't see any reason to use /3GB switch when you have 12 GB memory with 2 STD edition instances because in any case sql 2000 STD edition will not use > 2GB...
