SQL Server Performance

    Hi,

Currently I have a DL580 server running SQL Server 2000 and usually the practice is that /3gb switch will be enabled for all servers that has > 2gb memory.
My concern is whether this is the appropriate thing to do for a server that only has 3gb of memory which might makes things worse.

    Kindly advise.
    Thanks.

    Regards,
    Teri

Leave the memory settings on SQL to dynamic and search other posts in this forum for optimum replies in this regard.

Are you running SQL Server Standard Edition? If you are, then SQL Server can only utilize 2GB of RAM anyway.

What versions of Windows and SQL Server are you using? Be specific.
