Has anyone tried running 32-bit based dlls called from within extended SPs in a 64-bit instance of SQL Server 2000? If so, were you able to do it successfully? Was this something you ran frequently or only on occasion? I#%92m hoping to find if this is possible and if it can be done on a consistent, reliable basis. TIA for any info.
What kind of activity you want to execute using these 32-bit based Dlls? Any issues or errors with your trials? _________ Satya SKJ Moderator SQL-Server-Performance.Com
We have not tried anything yet with 64-bit SQL Server. Since we are going to be required to purchase new hardware and software we are holding off to see if anyone has had success with running 32-bit dlls from their XPs. If not then we're not going pursue it any further at the current time. A co-worker posed this question to Microsoft and the answer they gave leads us to believe it has not been tested by them.
To be frank its totally new concept to me also, it would help if you can perform the task on the test bed and deliver the feedbackup that would help others too (just in case). _________ Satya SKJ Moderator SQL-Server-Performance.Com
