Any Non-Heinous Way to Rename a SQL Cluster...?

Have a major move of a production server cluster hosting about 74 DB's this weekend. It is on a EMC Clariion SAN and the clusters obviously have a different name. Have a quick-n-dirty method to move by simply copying the Master and MSDB, keeping the drives the same and just switching the SAN connections. But, this happy method won't work on a cluster.

All the developers[!] are howling about having to change all their hard-coded connections to the name of the new cluster. Any ideas on changing the name of the new cluster to the old without trauma? Thanks for any replies!!

Winterhawk[8D]

Winterhawk

could you have an alias in DNS from the old name to the new name?
