Backup Compression on SQL 2005

    No, it is available from SQL 2008 version onwards, you may need to depend on third party tool such as from www.red-gate.com site.

    Hi
    There is free software available from Idera that we use to compress backups. It works just fine, taking half the time to backup and using half the space.

    It takes a little getting used to but I have not had a problem in the 2 months I have been using it.
