Backup & Restore

    Hi ,
    If i backup my local analysis services & restore it on dev server is that going to work. Only difference between local server & dev server is the data.
    Local server has more data then dev.

    Is that will be fine if i do restore.

    Once restore is done do i have to process the cube.

    Hi,
    YES
    If you take backup of a fully processed AS database and restore it on other as server it will remain in processed state with the same amount of data.

    Thanks for the reply..wht if i want the actual data in dev server to reflect ...do i have to reprocess it.

    Hi,
    If you need the data which is in local server into your dev, then ofcourse you need to full process the dev cube.
    Please note that the data source property should be the same as of local.
