SQL Server Performance

cache use counts/sec - Drastic fall

  1. mishrsk New Member

    Windows 2003 Ent, SQL 2000 Ent with SP4.
    The processor utilization fall from 25% to 8%, Batch requests per sec fell from 8K to 400 and cache use counts/sec fall from 30K to 2K all of a sudden with no changes from SQL (I am know), OS (I am not in control), Application (I am not in control).
    User performance is not changed. Any idea what's going on?

    Not really. The application usage is a bit less (say 10%). In propertion, this does not satisfy the drastic fall in cache use counts/ses.
    Well.. can it be that the query plans have changed significantly?

    Are you sure you do not have any processes like SQL Agent jobs, replication etc. ?

    thansk. I just want to make sure no other process was causing the counters to go up and down.
