Hi, I tried installing the AWE hotfix KB899761 into my Win 2000 Advanced Server that is running SQL 2000 EE, and it did not install saying I didnt have the prerequisite.. which is SP4. I do indeed have SP4 installed but it just will not install no matter how many times I try to re-install SP4. Any thoughts? The box has 8 gigs of ram and SQL is consuming 4 gb (AWE is enabled), /PAE is switched on, no /3GB or locking memory to the domain account though as right now the 4 gigs is fine since Cold Fusion server also resides on it and the remainign 4 gigs is for that and the OS. But I want to move that (CF) off and run the box as a dedicated database server.. so I'd like 6.5 gigs of that issued to SQL.. but can't get it to take in the hotfix to make it version .2040. thanks in advance...
Did you tried installing the hotfix with /LOG option so that you can see the exact issue... Have you tried latest CU for SP4? If not try it... And also check the following MSDN thread... http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/fo...thread/b2e82aba-b1e6-4870-8c74-5c93737eb8c9/f
I think I found the issue... for some reason, even after installing SP4, SQL still thinks its a RTM version. So I am re-installing sql right now and tryign to reapply the SP4...
