SQL Server Performance

Compatibility Level

    Which system table or stored procedure has the compatibily level information ? I'd like to read this through a select or t-sql block.

    Sysdatabases will consists of Competency level. See sysdatabases topic
    sql server books online.

    System tables should not be altered or accessed directly by any user, as MS supplied enough system procedures and other tools to accomplish the task. Follow as Gaurav suggested.

    Yes satya i agree with u, in a couple of posts i have also mentioned
    not to select data from system tables. However it is an info to see
    the competency level.

    For such information SP_HELPDB is suitable.

    Ya, if it is 2k it will show with competency level info if the version
    is sql 7 it will not show the info.
