We recently purchased a new SAN which has 24 hard disks. I will use 12 of them solely for the main database. Transaction log and tempdb will have their own hard disks. I am debating whether I should configure all 12 hd into one raid for the entire db or create two raids to house different file groups from the same database. We do have some tables that are huge (> 100 millions records) and often accessed. What are the deciding factors to choose which way to go?

We are using SQL 2008 std x64 on windows 2008 x64 enterprise.
