Hi, I have three databases that I would like to keep separate so as to update them separately. I am planning on using Silverlight RIA which can only OR/M map one database at a time. My question is: Should I create a new database with views from the three primary databases and then map that one? Is this a good strategy in terms of maintanability, performance, scalability? What other options do I have? Thanks a lot!

why 3 databases? if every database is the same structure , it may be reasonable to create 3 databases.
if they are different structure you can create one database.
    - create one database with 3 schema (if the 3 database is same structure) for sql 2005, 2008
    - create one database with one schema (if they are different structure)
that simplify maintainance of database, and you still have scalability and performance
you then create only one ORM model with one contextswitch connection
