I have a DB db1. In this db there is a batch process which feeds data from external file and have it in db. It starts from 9:00 pm to 7 am.During that time Testing team not able to access the server in that time . in order to allow testing team to test we decided to take a back of DB1 and restore it as DB2 and point the front end to DB2 when batch is running. once the batch is completed DB1 backup should be restored to DB2. it is of 100 gb size. So it takes 2 hrs.
Do we have any option to do this task very fast. without down time. or do we any other option.

One idea is to use 3rd party backup tools like Red Gate. Is faster than sql backup.
Now, why Testing teem need database with last data?. To test performance?

Check with SQL Database Recovery Tool. It will restore the database from MDF file much faster then actual database restore process.

You can implemen Transactional Replication and where have to stop the replication when you are doing the data load.
