I realize it is rather new, but has anyone had a chance to purchase / view a copy of Kalen Delaney's new book titled: "Hands-On SQL Server 2000: Troubleshooting Locking and Blocking" yet? Any thoughts you would like to share? I'm thinking of picking it up, but was just curious if it is worth it.
As far as I know it's an e-book. And I will definitely get my own copy. Her previous book was excellent, and I am sure this one would be too. Bambola.
I couldn't find it in amazon, but there's a review + link here on this site. http://www.sql-server-performance.com/hands_on_sql_server_locking_blocking.asp Bambola.
It's an e-book. I have a review copy, and its quite good. It is very detailed and includes lots of example scripts. If you want to know everything thre is about blocking and locking, its the book to get. It currently is not available at Amazon, but the link above will get you to the publisher's website. The book is published by the same people who run www.sqlservercentral.com. ----------------------------- Brad M. McGehee, MVP Webmaster SQL-Server-Performance.Com
I'd second Brad's comments, it's a nice focused e-book with plenty of sample scripts, a great refresher on blocking and locking.You can't go wrong with Kalen's books [<img src='/community/emoticons/emotion-1.gif' alt='' />]<br /><br /><br />HTH<br /><br />Jasper Smith
