    can anyone excplain what the following is:
    1 - cell level encryption
    2 - EFS - encrypting file system
    3 - BitLocker

    Trev, thanks for posting in the forums. But in general it is best to ask specific questions as opposed to more general requests for explanations - static online resources are bet for these.

    Trev, SQL SErver books online is the best and first resource to get to know such information. Don't get me wrong I always post in my replies, because I get required information by doing that...hence passing on the good habits to the community too :)
