    Hello Everyone,

Today I had an error 4014 happpening.

    The error message says:

    Error: 4014, Severity: 20, State: 2.

A fatal error occurred while reading the input stream from the network. The session will be terminated.

I know that this is some sort of network problem, but not sure how important it is to give a serious thought. I just wanted to know what (probably) might have caused this error.

    http://blogs.msdn.com/sql_protocols/archive/2005/09/28/474698.aspx says

You can turn on sql trace to see which client operation caused this failure?

Also, from error log, you should be able to see the error state, can you provide it?

Error state is already in the message in my post right?

    Am I missing something?

Ok That was helpful, from the event viewer log, the error appears to have occured from a particular login, I think finding out what job was run at that time also might help.
