    Hi there,

is it just me or does it take a long time after submitting a post and actually seeing it on the screen.

Frank, seriously, my generation don't know what retirement means.
All the money we spent in retirement programs is gone, in some goverment pocket or banks who no longer exist.

Well, I prefer to change subject. Hop you anderstand.

I have seem the time delay issue with posting come and go. I did a Profiler trace, and I noticed that the INSERTS were subsecond, even if the forum sometimes appeared to hang after clicking on the Submit button. I don't know if this occurs for everyone, but for me, it comes and goes. There are no bottlenecks on the server either (I have been monitoring it closely). So I am not sure what the occasional problem is, but I am still investigating it.

    Yes, it doesn't seem to be reproducable. [<img src='/community/emoticons/emotion-6.gif' alt=':(' />]<br />Sometimes the notification mails drop in before I see the posting on screen.<br /><br /><br />--Frank<br /<a target="_blank" href=http://www.insidesql.de>http://www.insidesql.de</a><br />

It happens almost everytime for me. What I do these days is, click on Submit Reply and go away from this window for a while. By the time I remember to come back, it is done submitting.
  18. derrickleggett New Member

This is kind of weird. My submitting is also kind of random. I'm noticing this on multiple Snitz forums though. SQLTeam has the same issue. The site runs faster, just like this one. Sometimes, after you hit submit, it just hangs for a second though. Must be something in the code.

It's the redirect (or the page just before it called post_info.asp) back to the thread that sometimes take a lot of time for some reason. If you open up another browser and go to the thread you will see that your post is already there while the other window still seem to be just hanging. Most likely a Snitz issue.

Almost all my replys have this issue. But if I go and edit an existing post it's very quick.
  23. FrankKalis Moderator

I see what you mean. Yes, that must a be Snitz issue. Mabye worth visiting their support forum?

    Folks

The performance on the forum is far better than ever after the [reply] process.
It seems the issue is fixed by Brad.

I have noticed the difference too, but I didn't do anything. Really. The forum seems to have a mind of its own sometimes.
