Hi, Has anyone had the chance to experiment/use Idera's SQL admin toolset? It is currently in beta but is to be released sometime this summer. It looks promising. Any thoughts anyone ? Max
I have not tested them but it depends on what you want...now MS provides many good tools which are free including intellisense SSMS in sql 2008 []
Welcome to the forum. It depends what you are getting out of them and see if you are to achieve with freely available tools from Microsoft and if not you can use third party tools, we use IDERA's tools within our work place and no issues.
We use Idera tools also and find that the tools are some of the most resonably priced ones on the market. Reliability is good, updates are pretty frequent and customer support is great. It's good see others are using the Idera tools. Max
I think their SQL search function was a complete rip-off of my code found here: http://sql-server-performance.com/Community/blogs/michaelberry/archive/2008/01/09/find-anything.aspx They enhanced it a bit, but nothing incrediblely complex... Output is very similar. The thing about that tool set is that they all are bits of code found lifted from the web and put a nice gui on it. Thats just my feeling... mind you...
Idera have a very good tools indeed, But, in this case (Beta) you have to use your finger in registry if you want to uninstall. So, I'll wait other version.
