    Hello,
I'm new to most things SQL and especially DTS. Can someone help me with scheduling a DTS package that will pick up a file that has the current date appended? I have the basic package scheduled, but not sure about how to handle the part where the filename will always be different due to having the date appended.
Also, I'd like to know how to do the reverse - export a file and append the current date to the filename.
    Thanks!

You can use the global variable in dts to do complete this task...
Just Google "Dts global variables"... you may find some solution...
or you can use bulk insert with the help of dynamic sql...
or you can rename the file before running the dts package and rename it back after dts load...
