    Hi All,
I have noticed that some of production tables have indexes with name startin with '_dta_index_' and I have came to know these are/may be created when DTA is ran on a performance load.
Could anyone please let me know the following:
    1. will the above said indexes useful.
    2. I have around 2-3 dta indexes in some table, how would I know wether to keep them or delete. Will any queries/exec plan use these indexes?
    3. What happens if I delete them?
I just need to adverse effects and advantages of the dta indexes.
    Many thanks in advance
    Regards,
    Sekhar

DTA indexes are not created automatically.
Someone run DTA and create those indexes.
You can check if those indexes are useful or not.
Check our articles (and posts) to find out how.
