I currently have a 2 node active/passive windows 2003 sql 2000 cluster. The db is on a SAN.

Question: Can I install a new instance (new server, non clustered) and use the same array on the SAN. There is lots of space on the disks used by SQL.

    Thanks

    Hi ya,

The instances will each need their own physical raid set, so if you have spare unused disks in the array then yes, however if you've bundled them together into raid set, and have spare unpartioned space, or space at the 2k3 level, then no.

    Cheers
