No, not all of last month's prizes were claimed. This was even true in the previous version of the contest. Sometimes people would never respond to my e-mails, and in some other cases, they did respond, but did not want any prizes. ----------------------------- Brad M. Hi hemant, i feel we have already disscussed this about best quality post. Its difficult to decide the quality unless and untill the question poster doesn't rates it. So brad needs to start allowing giving rating by user.
What is "the best post" anyway? Not only is this subjective in the eyes of the one who judges on this. But it might also be the cause for harm and distress. Even if the members are allowed to vote on this, you still need a "feature" here that will allow you to do so. Who will develop this? Who will have the time for it? It isn't readily available out-of-the-box. Anyway, personally I think, that while having the chance to win a prize is a nice goodie, that shouldn't be ones' main motivation to post here. Almost certainly this is the wrong attitude towards online communities. If members who have won a prize, doesn't collect it, well, that's the way it is. That's their own fault. Brad can't do more than announce the winners and maybe shoot a mail at them. If they don't answer, well.... -- Frank Kalis Microsoft SQL Server MVP http://www.insidesql.de Ich unterstütze PASS Deutschland e.V. http://www.sqlpass.de)
The voting system will create unwanted problems<br />If more than one "Good Answer", what will happen?<br />As Frank says, this feature should be developed and implemented<br />Let us not to focus on that [<img src='/community/emoticons/emotion-1.gif' alt='' />]<br /><br /><br />Madhivanan<br /><br />Failing to plan is Planning to fail
I personally think the current format is great (although I may be biased, having won before [<img src='/community/emoticons/emotion-1.gif' alt='' />] )<br /><br />Panic, Chaos, Disorder ... my work here is done --unknown

I agree with Raulie's post in this regard. Satya SKJ Moderator http://www.SQL-Server-Performance.Com/forum This posting is provided “AS IS†with no rights for the sake of knowledge sharing.
My goal to try and reward those who participate. Unfortunately, I can't offer prizes to everyone. I would also like to "spread" the prizes around as much as possible, which is what I hope the new format will no. I don't think there is any perfect solution. I will continue with this format for a while, and then perhaps change it later once I get more feedback. ----------------------------- Brad M. McGehee, MVP Webmaster SQL-Server-Performance.Com
Brad I believe there is nothing wrong with current format as we deployed this based on other members feedback and changed from previous format. I believe what you're doing is a right and one cannot always satisfy everyone. Its not about to rate the answered post but i mean by "best post" is a question or answer that is best in opinion / view point of moderator...and not for the prize to win...
