I have a linked server with product name as Oracle(OLE DB data source), when trying to import data from that server I am unable to connect from DTS to the source database. I am using "MS OLEDB provider for Oracle" while connecting. Am I in the right track? is there anything I am missing. Thanks! "He laughs best who laughs last"
Hi, It shouldnt be a problem. I have done this before and never faced any issues. I hope you have the required entries in your tnsnames.ora file. Please try connecting from the command prompt to your oracle database and confirm the connection. Alternatively you can also use tnsping to check the same. Hope this helps.

Hi I am unable to connect to Oracle DB through DTS, not sure whats the problem. Can any one pls brief me how I have to import data from Oracle to sql server throug DTS. I am creating a DSN and trying to do this but not sure where I am wrong. However my Linked server is working fine. How does a linked server and DSN relate in migrating such things. Thanks!
