SQL Server Performance

Log Reader question

    Hi,

    Is there any connection (looking for performance site) between LOG READER and Retension Period Time?

    I see that when I've change retension period from 2 days to 4 days Log Reader is having problems and I see errors like - 'could execute sp_replcmds on...The step was retrying 10 times without succeeding'

    If I change ReadBatchSize (from 500 to 1) for Log Reader agent is workig fine but I want to keep 500 value for ReadBatchSize.

    Any ideas?
