Log reader

    I am replicating data between two servers using transactional replication.
    I have kept it scheduled to run at 4:00am.
    From 11:00pm to 4:00am there is no activity on the database. But the log reader shows

    Log Reader Running "n" transactions with "n" commands were delivered

    n changes every time.

    What is it reading when there is no activity on the database?
