SQL Server Performance

Logshipping problem

  1. sramesh New Member

    hi all,
    i have 3 production servers and one backupserver (just configured).
    in backup server, i have 3 instances.
    now i will configure logshipping in headoffice server. every thing are fine.
    final satage its asking to add server.
    i clicked add button and try to add server name. here i have a problem.
    here i have seen only old server names. i cant type backupserver name in combo box.
    what is the problem?

    Can you post what kind of security do you have in backupserver?

    Try entering the IP address of your backup server. This should work.
    ... or ...
    Register your backup server in production servers including in the same group with others,
    since the problem is about resolving the names.

    Thats a good point to check the naming resolution issue on the network.
    If you have changed any of the server name on the network, then better to use SP_DROPSERVEr and SP_ADDSERVER statements to readd them into the list.
