Maintenance plan

    Hi Experts,
    On one of my Pre-Prod server I have created a maintenance plan and in that there are full and a log backup scheduled and retention is also scheduled for one day but thing is my machine it is running out of space as the retention is not happening with the maintenance plan, My Pre-Prod is on SQL Server 2005 enterprise edition sp3(64bit). Please let me know whether it is a bug in SP3.

    I can' t find anything about that.
    Just curiosity: your empty space, before backup, how many backups (without retention) can store?

    Hi Sorry for the delay,
    In the empty space, I can accommodate 2 full backup's (The drive size is 70GB and the full backup size is 27GB), but the thing here is we are doing T log backups also into the same drive so here the T log backup size is varying time to time so the space is not sufficient for the rest of backup's and the retention period for the T log backup is 12 hours.
