   Hi all, I got a doubt is there a way to change the mdf and ldf file name, I mean to say that for example I have a database with the name of the data file as abc.mdf and log file as abc.mdf can I change this to edf.mdf and edf.ldf
   I hope I am able explain my question.

   No AFAIK, Unless you are restoring/attaching the database.

   You have to change the filenames explicitly by detaching the database and re-attach it.
