   I have a server whose databases are mirrored to a stand by server.I wish to take a full backup of a database does it affects the mirroring process any way.
   ie does it clears the transaction log ?
   Thanks a lot for ypur suggestions

   Make another log backup and apply to the other server to activate mirroring

   Is that going to be ongoing backup on day to day basis?
   If so then follow what Dinesh suggested, if its one-off then it is ok to take full backup.
