    Hi Team,
Could someone suggest that is it possible to monitor for changes or logged any access to the following folder to disallow any potential malicious activity to the SQL Server binaries and tools – “%ProgramFiles%\Microsoft SQLServer\MSSQL.X\MSSQL\Install folder”?

It is a client query and he is just wondering that if it comes under SQL Server Hardening.

    Thanks,

    Rahul

I do recommend to use some performance alerts based monitors such as SCOM that can help in tracing any actions happened on bin directory level of SQL Server , also I do recommend to control ACL (Access control list ) permissions of this directory to authorized users only to control installations undertaken there
