Naming an SQL Server

    Hi All,

    I would like to know, how would I give a server name for the SQL server whilst installation.

    So that when I could connect from the SQL client, I dont hit the IPaddress, instead I could go hit the servername and go.

    Finally I would like to know is there a way to bypass the servername and to go whilst installation, is there a way to amend a server name after a complete installation

    Default instalation means: server name = sql name.

    Yes your correct, now I am learning things fast, it is the name of the machine would be named as the sql server name as well...good on ya mate, for the help..keep on helping the us..
