Satya, you must surely have won all the prizes on offer already? Well done anyway. (imho) this forum remains the highest quality one of all available that I know about. Tom Pullen DBA, Oxfam GB
Tom Thanks and yes I won most of the listed since the contest is started, but had (used) only 2 applications - scribe documentation & Apexsql code. Good to see you're gearing up now a days with your valuable suggestions, keep up the good work. Yeah, I'm trying to make more time for the forum, it's such a good way to learn. Tom Pullen DBA, Oxfam GB
Congratulations to all. Thank you Brad, it feels good to know that your contribution is recognized. This is such a great place to learn new things and get new ideas.
For me, posting to online communities is actually the best way to learn. Have you decided on your prize yet, satya? ----------------------- --Frank http://www.insidesql.de -----------------------
As you have probably noticed, I have been able to add a few books to the prizes list. I am still working on other options to spice up the offerings. ----------------------------- Brad M. McGehee, MVP Webmaster SQL-Server-Performance.Com
How about something like: MCSA/MCSE/MCDBA Self-Paced Training Kit: Microsoft SQL Server 2000 System Administrator[<img src='/community/emoticons/emotion-5.gif' alt='' />]?<br /><br />Luis Martin<br />Moderator<br />SQL-Server-Performance.com<br /><br /><font size="1">All postings are provided “AS IS†with no warranties for accuracy.</font id="size1"><br /><br />
Thanks Guys I've stopped accepting free software long ago and this time I've chosen the book : Trenches with SQL & .NET for more information on .NET applications. Forums are very good place freshen up your knowledge, share it for equal gain. Yes, I had the books in mind, too. ----------------------- --Frank http://www.insidesql.de -----------------------

So the book is gone <img src='/community/emoticons/emotion-6.gif' alt='' /><br /><br />Brad, more books like one Satya chosen would be appreciated if possible. I'm not freelancer, so if I really need kind of software offered, my company is going to buy it. Anyway, if there is no book left I'll still pick one from the software offered. Some of them looks interesting and may be useful if I change my career path.
Hey guys,<br />good news. In three month, when we are eligible again, satya apparently got this book already. So likelihood to get a book is increasing [<img src='/community/emoticons/emotion-1.gif' alt='' />]<br /><br />-----------------------<br />--Frank<br /<a target="_blank" href=http://www.insidesql.de>http://www.insidesql.de</a><br />-----------------------<br />
yeah I had my eye on that book too <img src='/community/emoticons/emotion-5.gif' alt=';-)' /> Satya, could you let us know what you think of the book after you've devoured it?<br /><br />Twan
The publisher of "In the Trenches" has gratefully offered to give out one copy of this book, once a month, for the foreseeable future. I guess that is why he goes by the name "The Saint". ----------------------------- Brad M. McGehee, MVP Webmaster SQL-Server-Performance.Com
Now that are good news! ----------------------- --Frank http://www.insidesql.de -----------------------
The inclusion of books in the prize list is the best thing to have happened to the forum since the inclusion of UDF's into SQL Server. I just hope that we get more "Saints" in Brad's good books. But aren't saints supposed to be dead and long gone to heaven (or reincarnated)? Nathan H.O. Moderator SQL-Server-Performance.com
<i>But aren't saints supposed to be dead and long gone to heaven (or reincarnated)?</i><br /><br />Who cares as long as they are material enough to write a book? Yeah, some do write books while they are gesund und munter. I suppose we should be grateful in this instance because generally "dead men tell no tales" Nathan H.O. Moderator SQL-Server-Performance.com
Sure Twan, and after my review I can lend it to you as you're in UK [<img src='/community/emoticons/emotion-5.gif' alt='' />] hows...that.[<img src='/community/emoticons/emotion-2.gif' alt='' />]<br /><blockquote id="quote"><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica" id="quote">quote:<hr height="1" noshade id="quote"><i>Originally posted by Twan</i><br /><br />yeah I had my eye on that book too <img src='/community/emoticons/emotion-5.gif' alt=';-)' /> Satya, could you let us know what you think of the book after you've devoured it?<br /><br />Twan<br /><hr height="1" noshade id="quote"></font id="quote"></blockquote id="quote"><br /><br /><hr noshade size="1"><b>Satya SKJ</b><br />Moderator<br /<a target="_blank" href=http://www.SQL-Server-Performance.Com/forum>http://www.SQL-Server-Performance.Com/forum</a><br /><center><font color="teal"><font size="1">This posting is provided “AS IS†with no rights for the sake of <i>knowledge sharing.</i></font id="size1"></font id="teal"></center>

Mmarovic I didn't get much time to go thru the subject and the outlook looks definetly usefull when developing the application using .NET and SQL Server, I'm sure I can lend some information within few days. I will email you with details. Satya SKJ Moderator http://www.SQL-Server-Performance.Com/forum This posting is provided “AS IS†with no rights for the sake of knowledge sharing.
