I was just reading this article today and I thought others may find it interesting. It shows what most of us have known which is Opteron scales very well due to each processor having a dedicated memory controller where Xeon has a shared North Bridge amongst its processors. http://www.anandtech.com/IT/showdoc.html?i=1982 It's too bad Dell still does not offer any AMD product as my current company uses all Dell desktops and servers. I wouldn't mind purchasing a 4 way Opteron server as our next SQL Server purchase.

    Thanks.
Personally I feel there is no end for high-end systems day-by-day in this cyberworld.

I feel rather than moving post to Announcement section let this be here as its for H/w configurations etc.
