    Hi All,

We have a requirement for a part time database developer, based in Leeds, United Kingdom.

The candidate will be job-sharing with myself (I am not a recruiter), in a team of 4 other developers. Must be confident enough to hit the ground running, sometimes working alone on projects, but in a talented and cooperative team environment.

Duties include an approx 40/60 split between
    1) SQL Server admin, query tuning, SQL troubleshooting and performance tuning advice to the other developers
    2) Windows software development, mostly in C#.NET. Any experience of Delphi, and ASP.NET is a bonus.

You will need *very strong* SQL Server skills, at the moment we are only using SQL Server 2000, but have plans to migrate to SQL 2005 in the future. We are not looking solely for a DBA however, you must also be able to develop software to a high quality without supervision.

Our employer forms part of a large FTSE-100 publishing and media company in the UK, with our company dealing in automotive research data and services.

Benefits are excellent, with various share schemes, Free shares, SAYE shares, Company Pension (up to 7% of salary), Flexible buying and selling of holidays.
We can also offer flexible working hours, and ability to work from home once a week (no overseas-based applicants please!).

You will be working in a small team of database developers, using the very latest technologies to design, maintain, document and develop new solutions for the automotive research market.

The working environment is friendly and informal, without sacrificing professional standards. (Shirt and tie not necessary, you can wear casual clothes so long as you are good at your job!).

This role would be an ideal opportunity for someone who has their own small business, but would like the security of part time employment. Or perhaps a parent who wants to spend more time with their children and arent looking for a full time job.

I would be interested in hearing from anyone who feels this might be a good oppurtunity for them, and is interested in working part time.

Please send a covering letter, CV and salary expectations to "p.chappy at virgin dot net"

    Thankyou
    Paul
