Im using perfmon and seeing relatively high amount of page faults.. I want to narrow this down to how many are caused by SQL... maybe an easy question but is it just the SQLSERVR proces i want or should I look at SQLAGENT, SQLMAGR etc

    many thanks

Page faults happen when a thread being processed doesnt find the required data in the physical memory and has to page it into the memory.
So check what is the available and allocated memory on the SQL server.

    Hi satya
thank you .. I'm aware of what causes them.. what I want to know is if I want to measure page faults caused by sql processes rather than any other applications of the machine i.e when I choose PERFMON -> Processes-->Page Faults etc do I choose SQLSERVR, SQLAGENT etc ..

Ok, what other application processes you have(found) or running at the time of high page faults/sec counters?
