I changed the data type of a column in a production table, char(1) to char(20) (easy isn't it) and my query's performace decrease up to 100%!!!

I delete and rebuild all the indexes, but itn't work...I need to fix the problem quicky...

    Somebody can help me?

    Would you show the query's?.

And, please, all information about: rows, columns, keys, foreing keys, relationship with others tables, etc.

    Thanks,

Why cant u try with varchar than char. If the data is fixed then let it be
    with char(20).
