Printing the stack-trace of an exception that occurs when executing a stored procedure

    February 23, 2011 at 12:08 amIs it possible to print stack-trace of the exception/error that one gets when one executes stored proc in MS SQL Server 2005 (not using ERROR_MESSAGE() , ERROR_LINE(), ERROR_SEVERITY(), @@ERROR etc...)? How??

    Welcome to the forum!
    Not sure I understand what you are asking for. If you execute the procedure from SSMS, you can always copy and paste the results as shown in the Messages tab. However, if, for some reason, you can't use anything related to error handling, you might find it difficult to get to this information.

    Is it not logged to SQL Server error log?
    What kind of stack trace is generated, can you post a sample here?
