SQL Server Performance

Problem with alaysis Server

    Hi,


    I am trying to create a Data Source in analysis server, poiting to a Oracle Database installed in another machine over the network. Connection test is ok, but when a press ok button, i got the message: "Cannot update. Database or object is read-only".

    Have you checked the oracle DB whether it is set to read only or not.

    This error usually indicates that you did not set the appropriate permissions on the database.

    Problems still continues...DB is operating normally. I connect and make dml operatins normally.
    Is there anything about permissions in the OS? Does Analysis Manager save any file in any directory?

    Ensure you're using proper privileged account on AS & Oracle.

    Also try creating a new dummy databse connecting to Access same like FoodMart2000.
    This is to make sure the previleges.
