Sorry for the problems with the website's availability lately. The web service, for some reason, just stops working. I am in the process of working on this as we speak. Still don't have any idea what is going on, or why. ----------------------------- Brad M. McGehee, MVP Webmaster SQL-Server-Performance.Com
Thanks for your turnup to my email Brad, I wanted one article with regard to server settings and site was timed out. It was awful boring since this morning. Sorry. I am still trying to determine the cause of the problem. It is still possible there will be some temporary service interruptions until I figure this out. ----------------------------- Brad M. McGehee, MVP Webmaster SQL-Server-Performance.Com
An update, I think I found the problem. It was actually a bug in the Microsoft Access Jet Database Engine. I recently started using a new application to track website activity, and it uses Access as its database. I hate Access, but the app only works with Access, so I had no choice. The problem only occurs on Windows 2003, and there is a hotfix for it. I got the hotfix and installed it. Hopefully, the website problem will go away now. ----------------------------- Brad M. Seems it corrected the issues, no sight of problems since this morning [<img src='/community/emoticons/emotion-2.gif' alt='' />]<br /><br />Edit: From GMT 13:00 hours onwards site is inaccessible and intermittent timeouts occured, after an email to Brad it fixed. Not a good monday morning for Brad.[<img src='/community/emoticons/emotion-5.gif' alt='' />]<br />Thanks.<br /><br /><hr noshade size="1"><b>Satya SKJ</b><br />Moderator<br /<a target="_blank" href=http://www.SQL-Server-Performance.Com/forum>http://www.SQL-Server-Performance.Com/forum</a><br /><center><font color="teal"><font size="1">This posting is provided “AS IS†with no rights for the sake of <i>knowledge sharing.</i></font id="size1"></font id="teal"></center>
More problems Monday morning. So this time, I am turning off the Access-based app, and going to see what happens. ----------------------------- Brad M. McGehee, MVP Webmaster SQL-Server-Performance.Com
Yes, I am ashamed. ----------------------------- Brad M. McGehee, MVP Webmaster SQL-Server-Performance.Com
Pretty shameful that those dedicated to sorting out SQL Server performance problems are hampered by Ms Access' idiosyncracies. Talk of David and Goliath (or maybe not). Nathan H.O. Moderator SQL-Server-Performance.com
