Following on from the editorial earlier in the week about productivity, why is it that when I am not performing work-related activities that I find I achieve so much more? Is it that I am really doing more or is it that activities outside of Information Technology are tangible and easier to measure? I had half a day off today in order to catch-up on a few things around the house and I felt like I made some serious headway into my "to do" list. Looking at my list, not only did I get a few pictures hung on the wall I also re-potted some pot-plants and built a shelf and put together a bookcase, and this was all before 10:00 a.m. this morning. Do you ever have the feeling that your productivity outside of work is greater than your productivity at work?
