I had question regarding my table which has netid, last name, first name information.

can someone suggest me if it's ok to set primary key on netid column?

If thats all the information youre willing to supply us with, I recommend consulting the magic 8 ball <img src='/community/emoticons/emotion-1.gif' alt=':)' />

If netid is able to uniquely identify each row in your table it looks like a good candidate for the Primary Key. But I agree with Chappy in that you've given us very few informations.
