SQL Server Performance

    Hi all
    how to know whether your sql server is a dedicated sql server.I mean to ask whether the computer sql server is running is dedicated to run only sql server or other application's also. please help.Thanks

    1) Ask to the users what they are using.
    2) Search in the server for: Applications, shared folders, etc.
    3) Run Performance Monitor and using Process Counters, add any program consuming CPU.
    That is a good start.

    Are you asking "just out of curiosity", or do experience any trouble?

    Simply read out the list of services under that server's Start --> Administrative Tools --> Services to see what kind of other application services are running.
