   Hi, just setting up a new SQL 2008 R2 box on server 2008 R2. I've never used Raid 50 before and was wanting some feedback on it's performance compared to Raid 5. seems like a good thing for those that need a bit more space then raid 10 offers but want more protect and performance then raid 5?

   I had no personal experience with RAID50 but what I read is it would have same performance like RAID 5 in this case, see this old thread http://www.sql-server-performance.com/forum/threads/raid-50-vs-raid-5.15486/ comments by Joe who is an expert in this area.
