SQL Server Performance

regarding certification in sql

    dear friends

    i need your sincere advice on this issue. i have started my carrer using sql 2000.
    and now i want to go for the certification in sql.

    can you please suggest me for what kind of certification i can go for.

    i tried on microsoft site it was confusing to decide , this is the time for sql 2000 certification or sql 2005.

    can you suggest me the books regarding the certification i should go for.

    i have observed that microsoft books for certification are way difficult to understand sometimes.

    so please do suggest

    I suggest you get the 2005 certification. Also, Microsoft Press has three 2005 certification books out, and they are all good. I have them all. Check them out at Amazon.com or Microsoft Press. If you find these certification books a little hard to understand, then start out with the Beginning 2005 SQL Server book from Wrox. Once you read and understand it, then the other certification books should be OK.
